Vision to Victory Adventure Camp

This camp will focus on trying new and fun adventures in a supportive environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy. Participants will try iFLY Indoor Skydiving with professional instructors and experience all the challenging activities at Bullwinkle’s Family Fun Center.

Cost

FREE to active DSB customers through a Pre-ETS Services or vocational rehabilitation case.

Who

This camp is ideal for students who are Blind, Deaf-Blind, or Low Vision between the ages of 14 and 21, who are active participants of DSB Vocational Rehabilitation or Pre-ETS Services.

Event description

Vision to Victory!

This camp is designed to introduce students to self-advocacy through the provided activities which include self-expression exercises, job training placements, and adventures including iFLY indoor sky diving with a qualified instructor and indoor go-carting with training to build self-confidence.

Students can prepare for post-secondary education and training by attending this camp and participating in first time experiences activities to build independence and self-confidence while meeting new friends and feeling accepted by staff and other campers who know low vision.

About the instructors

Amerability is an experienced contractor with youth across Washington. The staff includes people with lived experience who have a strong understanding of what it means to have blindness and low vision. Amerability team encourages event participants to achieve their goals through their actions, mentorship, and coaching.
