DEI and Training Program Manager (WMS1)

Lacey

As the DEI and Training Program Manager, you will coordinate the agency’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, oversee training activities, and lead the DSB training team. This mid-level management role is part of the Leadership Team and reports to the Assistant Director of HR and Training. 

In this role, you will identify and address systemic barriers affecting marginalized communities, such as people of color and individuals with disabilities, and work to dismantle internal policies and practices that perpetuate inequity. You will help foster a workplace where staff collaboratively create a welcoming, supportive, and respectful environment, ensuring all employees feel valued and represented. 

This work supports DSB’s vision of an accessible, prosperous future grounded in empathy, integrity, and collaboration. You will also manage the Pro-Equity Anti-Racism (PEAR) initiatives from the Governor’s office and the Office of Equity, overseeing the PEAR Team, and developing and implementing training, presentations, and policies related to DSB’s Respectful Workplace and Anti-Discrimination policies. In addition, you will supervise the training team, manage agency-wide training initiatives, and conduct the annual training needs assessment. In this role, you will lead both strategic and operational initiatives, balancing competing priorities within established timeframes, and independently establishing and maintaining effective work procedures for the training team.

Fiscal Analyst 4

Lacey 

As the Fiscal Analyst 4, you will be responsible for performing complex financial analysis to ensure accuracy of expenditures and identify potential problem areas and alternative methods. You will monitor and evaluate ongoing financial transactions to ensure compliance with cash handling policies, utilizing proper accounting techniques, enforcing audit rules, and ensuring internal controls are in place. 

This is a Lead Senior level financial position that supports the Deputy Financial Officer by providing accurate and timely financial information to assist in reporting the agency’s financial activities. In this role, you will also provide guidance and support to lower-level Fiscal Analyst staff, serving as the key point of contact in analyzing and coordinate financial transactions. In addition, this position serves as the assistant to the Deputy Financial Officer and the technical lead for the implementation and ongoing support for the agency’s accounting system.

Program Specialist 5 (Business Relations Specialist)

Seattle

As the Business Relations Specialist, you will be the agency's expert in business relations, conducting activities both internally with DSB staff and externally with businesses. Your focus will be on developing and maintaining competitive, integrated employment opportunities for DSB participants. In this role, you will perform a wide range of complex duties and responsibilities, exercising independent judgement in customer interactions and making decisions within your delegated areas. 

You will support employers and workforce partners through outreach, training, resource development, and workforce recruitment and retention efforts. You will collaborate with the Workforce System, as defined by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), with the goal of preparing individuals with visual disabilities successful entry into the competitive workforce and towards greater independence by meeting business needs.

Orientation & Mobility Specialist/Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Senior (In-Training)

Multiple Locations Statewide, WA

As an Orientation & Mobility Specialist/Vision Rehabilitation Specialist – Senior, in this training position, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise while working in a supportive and dynamic environment. This is an itinerant position, providing instruction to adults and youth.

Through on-the-job training, you will gain proficiency in Vision Rehabilitation and Low Vision Therapy (ADL’s and Low Vision Evaluations) using the latest technologies and training methods to support customers. You’ll analyze and evaluate the adaptive skills of individuals with Blindness, Deaf-Blindness, and Low Vision, focusing on enhancing their Orientation & Mobility, daily living activities, and employment readiness.

In this role, you will contribute to curriculum development, implement effective training strategies, and ensure compliance with Section 508 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). You’ll also help recruit, assess, and manage vendors who provide specialized adaptive rehabilitation training, oversee the organization of Low Vision and Adaptive tools inventory, and provide educational support to customers, businesses, community partners, and employers. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow in a collaborative and engaging work environment while developing critical skills to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with visual impairments.
